WISPs and broadband Internet service providers need more network capacity, faster data rates and more reliable broadband services. During my interview with David Levi, CEO of of Ethernity at the WISPAmerica show, he explained to me that wireless backhaul systems can have interruptions, slowdowns or reduced transmission from weather, equipment changes or other problems. The industry standard WISP and ISP network protocols do not dynamically optimize and increase the capacity for backhaul connections. Optimizing backbone networks can difficult because system equipment tends to be proprietary with vendor-locked implementations are hard to modify with high change and licensing fees. To solve this challenge, Ethernity created ENET Wireless Backhaul solution. The ENET flow processor continually monitors and automatically re-assigns, aggregates and load balances packet data flows without requiring changes to network equipment or systems.
